Belgium

Czech Republic
- Czech Railways main site,
online features - current train location (in Czech), advance reservations.
- Czech Railways timetable
and fares information.
- Czech Railways
international ticket price engine (gives fares in Kc and Euro). In Czech,
rather tricky to use!
- Prague Public Transport Co.
- information on the Metro, trams, and buses -- routes, fares, and history of
the system.
- Train and
bus times in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries (no fares). This
site allows you to choose between the current national rail and bus timetables
(the default), the current national rail timetable, the current national bus
timetable, and the timetables of the Prague Public Transport (which will give
you the distances to be covered by your journey to the last metre!).
France
- SNCF's (Société
national des chemins de fer français's) official site (in French). This
site includes a timetable and ticket ordering facility.

- Swiss Federal Railways
(SBB-CFF-FFS) home page, including a timetable search engine which includes all
postbus routes.
United Kingdom
- UK Railways On The Net - this
site has now developed into a really useful site to market the various
privatised railway companies in the UK. Links to sites of the individual train
companies and other railway businesses, and also to transportdirect.info, the
government's new site for travel information on all forms of public transport
(may sometimes provide odd bus connections!).
- TheTrainLine - Virgin
Trains' online combined timetable, ticket booking and reservation facility.
It's necessary to register with this site before using it for your first
enquiry. It's a bit slow, but is useful for getting an idea of how much a train
ride in the UK may cost, before you shell out for a ticket.
- "Planmyjourney" from
is the new service from ATOC, the people who
brought us the National Rail Enquiries telephone service (08457 48 49 50). This
site is supposed to be able to give full timetable and ticketing information,
and more. Saves trying to explain to someone in India where Penrhyndeudraeth
is!
- Eurostar timetable and fare
information.
- Stena Line ferries between
the UK and Ireland, Netherlands. Timetables, fares, and online booking.
